SHORTS MÉXICO - International Short Film Festival of Mexico - invites you to submit your film. We are celebrating thirteen years of being the only film festival dedicated exclusively to national and international short films. Our thirteenth edition will be held from September 5 to 12, 2018.

We kindly request your support to spread and promote our Call for entries 2018, through your website or social media community/alumni. We look forward to have a strong presence of short films from your country at our festival.

The main objectives of the festival are:

- To exhibit, broadcast and promote short films from all over the world.

- Decentralize the exhibition of the short films in Mexico.

- Promote the production of short films.

- Promote interaction between the public and the short filmmakers.

- Reach and create new audiences.

- Creation of new formats and encouraging filmmaking.

In its last editions there have been more than 15,000 spectators during the festival in more than 28 venues in Mexico City (CDMX) without counting the audience in the tour in the rest of the country and abroad, in addition to receiving annually about 2000 short films for selection. Throughout almost twelve years the festival has consolidated and created new audiences for short films, that have been distributed in DVD, exhibited in public and private television. The festival also realized web programs like Cortoteca (Conducted by actress Mónica Huarte), found new exhibition venues. Shorts Mexico is exhibited every year in main commercial film chains as CINEMEX.

Sincerely,

Jorge Magaña / FOUNDER AND GENERAL DIRECTOR
