In the Spotlight today is the 3rd Annual Nottingham International Film Festival(NOTTIFF), a thrilling showcase of truly independent films which is selected entirely from open submissions. The future looks strong for NOTTIFF with ever increasing distributor and industry attendance - this is an emerging event not to be overlooked.

"A genuinely friendly and supportive festival that took care of us and our film. There was a great variety of films on show, and not just films with high budgets as can sometimes be the case. It felt like a celebration of all things film, with everybody involved being open, engaging and up for exploring. Great place, great people," Jonny and Leo Moore, directors of UK Feature Winner Made in Taiwan. NOTTIFF welcomes filmmakers to submit Narrative Features, Documentaries, Shorts, Experimental Films, Music Videos, Animations, Student Films, and Screenplays. Screenwriters with a script of any length will have the opportunity to have their work presented to a panel of industry experts who will pick the final category winner.

The official selection in past editions has featured exciting world and U.K premieres of feature length and short films from world cinema that portrayed everything from gripping indie thrillers to intriguing documentaries. Alumni premieres, lineups, and guests have included Gabriel Byrne and Harvey Keitel starring inLies We Tell, Ella Purnell'sAccess All Areas, award winning docOne Note At A Time, Polish hitRage, SXSW'sInsatiable, and BAFTA winningOperator.
