New Hope Film Festival Call for Entries

In the Spotlight today is the 9th AnnualNew Hope Film Festival(NHFF), named "Sundance East" byThe Huffington Post. NHFF prides itself in placing a strong emphasis on artistic expression - NHFF reviews each submission regardless of representation making it a popular showcase to discover under the radar talent. With a clear and consistent emphasis on artistic quality, NHFF pays no mind to production budgets or big stars; at this festival, artistry and creativity are paramount. The festival welcomes Features, Documentaries, Shorts, Short Documentaries, Music Videos, Webisodes, TV Pilots, and Student Films.

With a strong publicity and marketing program that includes an annual awards announcement in Variety as well as press coverage in mainstream outlets such as NBC, The Huffington Post, The Times of India and more, this cutting-edge and growing festival is a powerful bridge between indie obscurity and the mainstream. Recent distribution deals for NHFF Official Selections include worldwide distribution through JourneymanVOD for Omo Child, and North American distribution rights for The Syndrome through Freestyle Distribution Media, the distribution arm of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios.

Invited filmmakers will receive two all access festival passes that includes access to the closing night awards ceremony. Last year's ceremony included the presentation of New Hope Film Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award to former CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather. Screenings throughout the day and seminar events bring attendees, artists, and distributors together for inspiring collaborations and long-term relationships.

NHFF is a place where artists come together to celebrate great work, great films, and great opportunities. Over several years, the charming borough of New Hope has attracted and been home to many talented producers, screenwriters, actors, playwrights, and performance art enthusiasts. Home of the Bucks County Playhouse, where actors such as John Travolta, George C. Scott, Robert Redford, Helen Hayes, Andrea McArdle and Colleen Dewhurst have graced the stage, the village is centrally located less than an hour from Philadelphia and an hour and a half from New York.
