Call to Action!

Greetings Members of the UFVA,

Let’s make a deal.  For awhile now I've had an idea for a series of short films I'd like to produce/direct/write.  Often when people have to confront issues of racism, sexism etc. they default to "that didn't really happen”, it's your opinion" or "that isn't true". That gaslighting is present in stories like these:

To that end, I'd like to put out a call to UFVA members to shoot a series of hiring/tt/teaching discriminatory events that happened to them personally (#metoo).  We would allow anonymous submission of stories to protect the vulnerable but a 10 episode series of shorts by UFVA members would be irrefutably authentic,  powerful and enlightening.  The stories would be produced/directed/written by UFVA members.

If you have a story to submit I’d be happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement to have a look at it.  If you’re interested in writing, directing, dping or sound designing on the project please contact me directly.  If you’re in Dallas or could get to Dallas easily all the better but I’m putting out a call because I’m interested in this project as a collective effort to cover a wider variety of POVs (I have enough of my own stories to easily make ten films).

I plan to show an example at the UFVA in Las Cruces.  Thanks for your time.
