WeScreenplay Feature Competition Call for Entries

Winners Announced: Winter 2018

In the Spotlight today is the 4th Annual WeScreenplay Feature Competition, called one of the top screenwriting contests in the industry in 2017 by MovieBytes, offers two guaranteed reads, access to judges' scores, and over $20,000 USD in prizes awarded to winners. WeScreenplay will identify three exceptional feature screenplays to champion and highlight through their network of producers, agents, and managers.

The WeScreenplay decision process that allows for multiple readers to thoughtfully discern if a screenplay will make it to the next round. The judging process is a total of six rounds and all entrants in the first round will receive their judging score cards in an effort to provide feedback at no additional charge. Judging will be based on all aspects that make stories great - character, plot, originality, voice, dialogue, craft, structure, appeal, etc. Budget and marketability will not be considered.

This year's jury includes Dave Green, Director of Earth to Echo and the upcomingTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2; Juliet Berman, Creative Executive at Treehouse Pictures (All Is Lost,That Awkward Moment); Le'Ander Nicholson, Literary Manager at BelieveLand who signed the 2016 Grand Prize winner Kenlon Clarke; Melissa Azizi, Executive at Pretty Pictures (The Danish Girl,Kinsey).

WeScreenplay also hosts the Diverse Voices writing competition helping bring light to under-represented groups. The competition encourages stories that are told from perspectives - through the author and/or characters - that are often underrepresented in Hollywood today.
