In the Spotlight today is the 24th Annual San Luis Obispo International Film Festival(SLO Film Fest), a world-class, small-town fest infused with abundant amounts of film, wine, and fun. SLO Film Fest's team of programmers will choose an eclectic slate of 100+ new films from the George Sidney Independent Film Competition open to filmmakers all over the world and the Central Coast Filmmakers Showcase open to local filmmakers. Films in competition are juried by notable professionals who specialize in narrative, documentary and short films and filmmakers are eligible for cash prizes.

Located half-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco, San Luis Obispo's laid-back vibe and serene natural beauty is the perfect setting for this highly regarded annual film celebration. Filmmakers rave about the warmth and attentiveness that is so much a part of the SLO Film Fest experience, as does the swelling tide of industry pros and film critics who are fast discovering the Festival's thoughtful audiences and unique programming sensibility. At the SLO Film Fest, "Movies Matter!"

Filmmakers are the stars of the Festival and are treated to full access passes, complimentary overnight stay at a beautiful hotel, parties and networking opportunities, as well as local hosts, goody bags, wine tasting passes and professional theatre venues. In 2017, the Festival Tent in downtown SLO was the meeting place for filmmakers, media, sponsors and major pass holders making it a great venue for networking and wine tasting.
