Boston International Film Festival Call for Entries

In the Spotlight today is the 18th Annual Boston International Film Festival (BostoninterFF). The Festival showcases a diverse collection of films from emerging and established filmmakers that explore and highlight the richness of human cultures while recognizing universal themes and the similarities that exist among all cultures. This 5-day event takes place in historic Boston, Massachusetts, boasts a festival attendance of 25,000 filmgoers, and attracts media from throughout New England reaching roughly 6 million more people.

The Festival strives to promote the world's most artistic and creative independent and experimental films, and in past seasons has hosted a number of high-profile filmmakers. The Opening Film of the last festival open with a special premiere of The Lost city of Z with Director James Gray in attendance for Q & A the film starring Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson. Alumni include Jack Black, Forest Whitaker, Rod Lurie (The Contender), Bob Yari (Crash), DB Sweeney (Two Tickets To Paradise), Brian Goodman (What doesn't Kill You), Brian Presley (Port Charles), Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan), and Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda). A number of past selections have also gone on to theatrical releases last year including The Lennon Report, Across The Line and Coming through the Rye.

BostoninterFF presents several honors, including the Indie Spirit Award for best narrative feature, Indie Spec Award for best documentary, and a production deal to the winning screenplay submitted. BostoninterFF provides lodging and transportation to select filmmakers and provides accreditation to dozens of distributors who are seeking new films for worldwide distribution.

BostoninterFF is dedicated to rewarding artists for their individual talents and for their creative expression through the medium of film.

The Festival presents an opportunity for audiences and filmmakers to experience varied views of humanity through the medium of film, and fills a cultural gap by offering a fun, professional, and multi-cultural event in the greater Boston area. In addition, BostoninterFF affords a rare opportunity to promote dialogue between filmmakers and audiences in an intimate and state-of-the-art setting. All screenings are held in Boston's Theatre District.
