Call for Self-Nominations, Editor, Journal of Film & Video

The University Film & Video Association is seeking a new editor and institutional home for the Journal of Film & Video, the oldest academic journal in the United States devoted specifically to screen education. The position begins on June 1, 2018.


The editor is appointed by the UFVA President, upon recommendation of the current editor, the JFV advisory board, and the editorial vice-president, and subject to approval by the UFVA board of directors.  The editor must be a member of the University Film & Video Association during his or her term as editor.


The editor oversees the distribution of submissions to the editorial board and the preparation of all journal content for publication in conjunction with JFV's publisher (currently the University of Illinois Press). The term of service is five years with the possibility of renewal.

1) An updated CV

2) A letter of intent outlining his or her qualifications for the position.
