Tulsa, Oklahoma - USA
October 11 to 15, 2017

In the Spotlight today is the the 3rd AnnualTulsa American Film Festival(TAFFest), dedicated to highlighting diverse American voices through independent film. Its unique lineup of short and feature length films showcases stories from all over America, and also includes focused programs of American Indian, African American, and Latino American films. Additionally, the Festival welcomes Short Screenplays, Oklahoma Student Shorts, TV Series, and films made by or about people with disabilities in America.

TAFFest offers an unparalleled curated and competition-based selection of film to the Tulsa area, and the opportunity for filmmakers to screen at the historic Circle Cinema as well as world class museums and arts and cultural centers. During its inaugural year the festival screened films that garnered major attention at Sundance and SXSW along with discovering and premiering films that went on to great circuit success. One of TAFFest's feature filmmakers, W. Dave Keith (Metcalf South Memories), raves, "I had a great time in Tulsa and really can't wait to see what the future has in store for the festival and the film office. TAFFest put together a top notch festival and I've been telling everyone how great a festival it was."

Located in the middle of America, and often listed as one of the best cities to move to for entrepreneurs, or for millennials, Tulsa boasts a strong arts and culture scene, and is rapidly gaining notoriety for its local music. Filmmakers with ties to Oklahoma or who are a member of an Indigenous nation are encouraged to mention this in their cover letter when submitting.
