Austin, Texas - USA
September 16 to 24, 2017

In the Spotlight today is the 6th Annual Austin Revolution Film Festival (ARFF), where undiscovered filmmakers are the star of the fest and audiences are overjoyed to experience new films. The guiding principles of ARFF are to showcase great stories, screening films in the coolest venues, creating excellent networking opportunities and keeping filmmakers - the true stars of the show - front and center throughout the fest.

"One of the most satisfying screening and festival experiences of my career. Peers become colleagues become friends become family. I cannot recommend submitting to [ARFF] any higher," Mike Donis, Pete Winning & the Pirates. The Austin Revolution Film Fest has gained a great reputation with filmmakers and film fans, who return again and again to the show with new submissions and sold-out screenings. It has also attracted industry sponsors, including Austin Film Commission, Saffire, Marco Fine Arts, and screenwriting companies Final Draft and InkTip.

The Festival gives out dozens of awards which are presented as rodeo-style belt buckles in true Texas style. Award categories include Best Female Director, Best Web Series, Best Music Production, Rising Voices, Filmmaker of the Year, and more. Unique to ARFF is the Tostevin Award, the winning filmmaker embodies the festival in quality of work and the building of the community by showing support for fellow filmmakers. The award is named after director Jason Tostevin who was awarded with Filmmaker of the Year in 2016 and has won several awards in previous years at ARFF - Jason gives generously of his time to help other filmmakers get their films made.

The Austin Revolution Film Festival is dedicated to bringing indie films otherwise ignored by larger festivals to the indie film center of Austin, Texas.

Taking place in the heart of Austin, the Live Music Capitol of the World, ARFF provides filmmakers a stage to get to know a local community that is engaged and interested in all types of artistry. Beyond unique events, Austin offers some of the best BBQ, breakfast tacos, microbreweries, and more, it's no wonder that filmmakers return to ARFF year after year.
