June 21 to 25, 2017

In the Spotlight today is the 18th Annual Maui Film Festival, where the aloha spirit thrives among independent filmmakers and film goers eager to meet, collaborate, and celebrate innovative storytelling. "The Maui Film Festival exceeded my expectations. The Celestial Cinema is mind-blowing! It's also one of the best places anywhere in the world to launch a movie," Trevor Groth, Director of Programming, Sundance Film Festival.

With extraordinary open-air screenings available, night after night, Maui Film Festival immerses its visitors in luxury and style, whether they're representatives from major studios, or first-time filmmakers with bright Hollywood futures. Past honorees at Maui Film Festival have ranged from talented up-and-comers to seasoned professionals, including Luptia Ny'ongo, Andrew Garfield, Olivia Wilde, Elizabeth Banks, Brie Larsen, Jessica Chastain, Jake Gyllenhaal, Claire Danes, and Clint Eastwood. It's no secret that Hollywood stars love to come to Maui, and the Maui Film Festival offers an invaluable, relaxed platform on which to network far from the stress of Los Angeles life.

In addition to Maui Film Festival's awe-inspiring locales, guest lists, and big-screen tales, visitors will have their appetites satiated by some of the finest cuisine around. A variety of food-fueled events including Taste of Summer Opening Reception at the Grand Wailea, VIP Soiree at Spago, Taste of Chocolate at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, and the Filmmaker Brunch at Longhi's at the Shops at Wailea. These savory experiences are all part of a festival experience The Hollywood Reporter describes as "the embodiment of relaxed elegance."
