The Department of Radio-TV-Film invites applications for a position beginning fall 2012 at the Assistant (tenure track) or Associate (tenured) level in Social Media, New Media, or Transmedia with possible areas of expertise in legal and ethical issues and social media marketing. The faculty member will have the opportunity to develop new courses in his/her areas of specialization at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The faculty member will be housed in the Radio-TV-Film Department and is one of three internally funded cluster hires in UNT's College of Arts and Sciences that focus in the areas of new/social/digital media. The faculty member will collaborate with new hires in the Department of Communication and the Department of Linguistics and Technical Communication on interdisciplinary initiatives relating to enhancing undergraduate education and community engagement. Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. or M.F.A. is required at the time of appointment in New Media, Digital Media, Social Media, or Communication or a closely related discipline.
Candidates for Assistant Professor will be expected to develop a record of scholarly research necessary to obtain tenure. Candidates for Associate Professor will be expected to engage in a continuing program of scholarly productivity. Teaching load is 2/2 for an Assistant Professor, 2/3 for an Associate Professor.
