January 10, 2010

Dear UFVA Members,

As 2010 conference host, I am pleased to invite you to the 64th annual conference of the University Film and Video Association at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain between the Adirondacks and Green Mountains. Burlington is New England's destination lifestyle city and recent accolades for Burlington include:

The perfect small city; Number one dream town; #1 on list of 'Top Ten cities that have it all'; One of America's Top 10 college towns; Best Green Place to Live in America.

The conference will be held on Champlain College's main campus from Tuesday, August 10th through Saturday, August 14th. The annual Thursday night picnic will be held at Echo Lake Aquarium and Science Center on Burlington's waterfront amidst aquariums filled with beautiful fish and ecological exhibits. Saturday night's banquet will be held in the IDX Student Life Center with extraordinary views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.

Champlain College is dedicating the whole of the campus to the conference. Our campus is compact and our panels and screenings will take place in the buildings surrounding our main quad. These buildings include Hauke Conference Center, IDX Student Life Center and S.D. Ireland Global Business and Technology Center.

Membership Meeting

The annual membership meeting will be held Thursday afternoon. This is the one time each year when the membership meets in a formal session, with the board of directors, to discuss and vote on issues of concern to the organization. No other events will be scheduled during this time.

The annual UFVA golf tournament will be held at Kwiniaska Golf Club in Shelburne, Vermont on Friday morning. The winning foursome will receive the coveted Lipkin Cup at a special presentation at the banquet Saturday evening. The cost for greens fees and cart rentals is $60 and is in
