California State University Los Angeles is delighted to host the 71st annual conference of the University Film and Video Association on our campus in summer 2017. The main conference will be July 30-August 2 (Sunday through Wednesday). Located fifteen minutes east of downtown Los Angeles, and thirty minutes from Hollywood, CSULA is one of the most culturally diverse campuses in the United States, making it an ideal location for this year's conference theme: MEDIA DIVERSITY: INCLUSION AND CONVERGENCE.
Dr. Suzanne Regan, long-time member and past president of the University Film and Video Association, and her CSULA colleagues are looking forward to welcoming all to their home campus. They are confident of an engaging and beneficial experience for all.
SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED; a preliminary program will be available in early May. Conference registration will open on April 15th.
Students can still apply for the Graduate Fellowship (due April 1 at 11:59pm).
General Conference Information:
Members: $300.00 (through June 15th; $350 through July 5th; $400 thereafter)
Student members, life members, and spouses/guests: $150.00 ($200 after June 15th)
Exhibitors (must be sustaining members of UFVA): $600.00 (first table, which includes two attendees; additional tables are $300 and include one attendee each)
The main conference runs from Sunday, July 30th through Wednesday, August 2nd. UFVA and UFVF board meetings and a meeting of TVFM (TV/Film/Media) chairs for the entire Cal State university system will be on Saturday, July 29th. UFVA conference-goers are welcome to arrive early to take advantage of organized tours and visits to local attractions on Saturday, July 29th; more information will be posted when the registration page opens.
Conference registration includes lunches, receptions, and the annual UFVA picnic on Monday, July 31st. Tickets for the annual banquet on Wednesday, August 2nd are $50.00. Extra picnic tickets are $40.00.
July 30th through August 3rd (Saturday thru Thursday morning) - $25.00
July 29th through August 3rd (Friday thru Thursday morning) - $30.00
A long-term permit includes all access to parking lots with faculty parking and is necessary for overnight parking at the dorms. The CSULA campus is situated on hills, with the dorms at the lowest level. Parking permits will allow people to move from lower level parking to lots near the TVFM Center, or the middle of the campus.
CSU faculty with summer parking privileges from any CSU campus will have their parking permits recognized at CSULA and do not need to pay for parking.
Day parking is limited to kiosk lots and is $6.00 per day; pay at kiosks.
